Eight Treasure Porridge - 营养八宝粥

We're all familiar with the saying, “Health is Wealth”. Well, this holiday season Sai Hing is bringing you 营养八宝粥 (Ying Yang Ba Bao Zhou) to help you protect your most valuable treasure.

After feasting on some delicious delicacies, indulge in the Eight Treasure Porridge that provides you with all the nourishment you need to kick off the new year!

With ingredients such as blood nourishing red beans, skin enhancing green beans, and a few more, the eight treasure porridge is extremely 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐧, 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡. It also helps to maintain flourishing skin!

Ingredients:
(Recommended weight/unit, can be adjusted according to your tastes/liking!)

Black Rice
Small Yellow Rice 
Japanese Rice
Fragrant Rice
Barley
Red Beans
Peanuts
Green Beans

** Sai Hing Eight Treasure Grain has pre-packaged ingredients that have been carefully crafted for the best medical effects and taste. 


Things that you can add for a better taste.
Sesame Oil/ Peanut Oil – 1 soup spoon 
Walnuts (amount based on your own preference)
Dried Longan (amount based on your own preference)

Yield: 1 full cup of grains is for 3 - 4 pax depending on how thick the porridge is.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes for soaking the mix of rice

Cooking Time: 110 minutes 


Directions:


Step 1. Wash the mix of rice and let them soak in a bowl for 30 minutes.

Step 2. Put the ingredients inside the pot with water. [Note: A pack of Sai Hing Eight Treasure Grain 500g is for 12 people. The ratio is 1:7. How much water to add in will depend on how many ingredients have been added.] 

Step 3. Add a soup spoon full of sesame oil or peanut oil [Tips: This will enable the porridge to improve in both its texture and taste]. Boil and cook the porridge for 110 minutes. 

Step 4. Lastly, add walnuts and dried longan into the porridge. The porridge is ready to serve!
