Nourishing Chicken Soup - 乌鸡当归补血汤
We all need a little chicken soup for the soul. Today we’re making 乌鸡当归补血汤 (Wu Ji Dang Gui Bu Xue Tang), Nourishing Chicken Soup with nutritious Chinese herbs and black chicken!
Most of us have our reservations towards eating black chicken due to its color, but did you know they’re actually better for your health compared to ordinary chickens?
Black chicken is chock full of antioxidants, and our soup helps in diffusing migraines and anemia, replenishes energy, and helps in beauty.
This soup is suitable for the consumption of all, with the exception of pregnant women.

Angelica Root – without sulfur
Red Dates
Codonopsis
Solomon's Seal Rhizome
Chinese Yam
Lotus Seeds
Wolfberries

Black Chicken – Half
Ginger Slices – 4 Slices
Yield: 2-3 persons
Preparation Time: -
Cooking Time: 110 minutes
Directions:
Step 1. Gently give the ingredients a wash in a bowl then place them inside the cooking pot.
Step 2. Blanch the black chicken with hot water and ginger slices. Once done, add into the cooking pot with 2 Liters of water. Boil and simmer the soup for at least 110 minutes to enable the soup to absorb all the ingredients properly.
Step 3. Add wolfberries during the last 5 - 10 minutes and the soup is done!
